Anderson Requests Public Safety Hearing After Recent Violence on College Campuses

Monday, February 6, 2017

As mentioned during his speech on Thursday, Senator Joel Anderson sent a letter to President Pro Tempore Kevin de Leon requesting an informational hearing of the Senate Public Safety committee to address recent violence at University of California campuses:

“An information hearing to discuss these incidents, law enforcement’s policies, and the decisions that were made will give us an opportunity to fully understand what assistance must be provided to campus law enforcement, or what changes in state law must be made, to ensure that our state’s campuses are both safe and open learning environments for our students.”

The letter was also signed by 11 additional Senators in support.
